Health Tip of the Day

The word nutrition has erroneously become synonymous with the word diet. The term nutrition is not limited to what you eat, but is more correctly used to describe a set of steps that include diet, digestion, absorption, assimilation, utilization, and finally elimination. Problems occurring at any of the aforementioned steps prevent true nutrition from actually taking place at the cellular level. Even the healthiest of diets (raw vegan) is useless if digestion, absorption, assimilation, or utilization is compromised.

Here's what you can do to maximize your nutrition as defined above:

1. Diet- organic raw vegan. Eat only those foods that pack the highest quality nutrients with the least toxic byproducts.

2. Digestion: Eat simple meals, practice proper food combining, and eat only when well rested and in a good state of mind. Stress and strong emotions inhibit digestion and lead to fermentation. Even the healthiest of diets will produce toxic waste and drain the system if not properly digested.
**Offensive gas is a cardinal sign that your food fermented and was not properly digested.

3. Absorbtion: Eat only those foods that are easily absorbed and promote healthy intestinal flora.

4. Utilization: Provided that each of the above steps was successful, pure raw nutrients will be utilized by the cells.

5. Elimination- Raw fruits and vegetables have a rapid transit time and are high in soluble fiber and water. Waste is easily eliminated. The bowels will function regularly and smoothly.
**Offensive smelling waste = the food you ate rotted inside of you. Do better next time.
